Felix climbed onto the bus with the unenthusiastic resolve. His feet dragged up the stairs, and he tiredly swiped his card in the charge box and looked about the bus. It was full, and all the seats had been taken already. He pushed his way through the mass of bodies, and stood towards the center of the vehicle, holding onto the ceiling bar to keep his balance. He deftly reached into his pocket with his free hand and pulled out a medication bottle, and read the label. He only distantly registered the change of prescription. The boy did not know the difference between Nardil and Marplan, but he guessed it had something to do with the lack of effects the first had. He shoved the bottle back in with more force then it was drawn, and he looked down at his feet. The bus quickly became uncomfortably full, and when the doors closed, it started forward. Many people stood around him, but he ignored them all, choosing instead to retreat into a half conscious doze as he swayed in the movement of the vehicle. He had not taken into account the two particularly curious eyes which had watched him intently from behind. When the mistress of those eyes brushed up against him from behind, he didn’t responded, his mind elsewhere. It was only when another, slender hand gripped the bar next to his own, and he felt warm breath at the back of his neck, that he looked up, and turned slightly.“Ah, Marplan, good stuff. Kept me from the bins for a week.” Felix tried to turn completely to see the woman who spoke, but the close proximity of the people around him made that impossible to rotate entirely without shoving the people around him. The boy heard the sound of pills rattling in a plastic bottle, and his hands immediately moved into his now empty pocket. Defensively, he turned, ruffling the people around him. A small, very thin, very pale girl looked up at him. She wore a small black tee-shirt and her hair was chopped short and spiky, died to a deep aqua. Her eyes were pale, and shone brightly from the florescent lights of the bus. Her smile was small and mischievous. She held the bottle in her hands, the prescription side turned up so she could read it.
