I figured I’d actually write a little bit about what’s going on in my life, outside of what my previous post mentioned.

Things are going really well, aside from that. Colin and I are moving right along. He finally got a job! Woo! So hopefully I’ll no longer feel like the man in the relationship. It was actually pretty stereotypical, had our roles been reversed. I’d come home from work, and he’d have dinner made for me. It was pretty nice, but I didn’t enjoy the fact that he’s constantly flat broke and therefore unable to do much of anything with me. I shouldn’t be materialistic, but that is one thing that bothers me. For my birthday, he got me a couple of CDs. Better than nothing, yes. But I don’t know how he’ll feel when he finds out I’ve spent, altogether, well over $400 for his birthday. Maybe I shouldn’t have spent that much money in the first place, but it worked out so perfectly. I guess I’ll just have to call it his birthday AND Christmas present. He said he told me that the guitar he got me was for Christmas and my birthday, which is why I only got those CDs. We’ll see what I actually end up getting him for Christmas. I guess I’m just disappointed. Giving gifts is one really big way that I show him I love him, so when I don’t get anything in return.. Well… It’s not so fun.

Anyway. Things really are fine. Aside from those. Hah. It’s no reason to leave him, and I don’t think I’ve gotten any of those yet. Not big ones at least.

As for work… We’re restructuring our departments, so I have another new manager (the one I had before this had only been my manager since February, and before that I didnt have one for several months). The team that we ended up forming is a strong one, and hopefully I’ll like working with the new manager.

School! This is the most exciting one! I have one final left to take on Wednesday, and I’m done for summer! Woo! Although, chances are high that I’ll be re-taking a class over the summer. Not cool. But, I mentioned this in the last post… I’m going to Iceland! I may have said it before then too, but whatever.

Yes, next week, I’m leaving for Iceland for 2 weeks. It is technically school. I’ll be getting credit for it, and I’ll have to write a paper and some other stuff for it…. But who cares, it’s Iceland! I am kinda nervous though. It’s my first time off the continent (not including Hawaii, I guess), and…  Well, it’s going to be outdoorsy, which’ll be fun, but I haven’t done any “serious” hiking or anything like that. I need to buy a whole bunch of gear, because I don’t even have any really hiking boots. Or weather-resistant clothes, which is funny considering I live in Minnesota. Also! I have to get a nice sleeping bag, so I won’t freeze during the night (yes, we’re camping!).

Hm. Anyhow. I think the last thing I have yet to mention is moving. Maybe I did? Well, in any case, we are. All of us. Luckily, everyone’s kind enough to move my stuff for me while I’m in Iceland. Then, I’ll get back and have to start unpacking everything and organizing and ugh. I really don’t want to think about it honestly. But It’ll be a nice new beginning.
